Yuge Yu’s third ready-to-wear collection ‘Telegram’ is an inverted take on femininity. Yuge has tweaked classic masculine cuts and tailoring to highlight a softness that is for the modern woman, whilst still remaining familiar and chic. One can see Yuge’s well-researched references to Italian suiting and feminine silhouettes. Telegram is a trans-seasonal collection, which uses Australian wools, D-rings, Petersham ties and metallic silks work to create a language that is entirely the designers’ own. Telegram’s unique Fashion prints work together and give way to Yuge’s husband and renowned artist David Bromley’s art prints, illustrating a collection that is a delicate and twisted Ménage of two creative worlds.
